The Urban Development Department issued a partial modification notification to "Plastic Waste Management (Amendment) Rules 2021 notified by the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change Govt. of India prohibiting identified Single-Use Plastic items, which have low utility and high littering potential, by 2022.

Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Shashank Pratap Singh IAS has informed all concerned that as per the Government of Nagaland notification on “Ban on Single-Use Plastics (SUPs), the following identified Single-Used Plastic items which have low utility and high littering potential are prohibited.
