The inaugural Nagaland Cross Country Championship was held on 19th November 2021 at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima. The event was flagged off by Vice President of the Athletics Federation of India (AFI), Abu Metha. The Competion was also witnessed by Chairman of AFI Technical Committee and President of Telangana Athletic Association, Stanley Jones and Technical Official, AFI, Sambhudas Bandopadhaya.
The event was a huge success with over 200 athletes from the various districts of Nagaland taking part in the competition.
The day kicked off with the senior men’s 10 km event. Nahtei N Wangnao came in first with a time of 35:57, followed by Cuvoto Medeo and Wede T Mero in third. The senior women 10 km saw Tsuchoi T come in first with a time of 43:55 followed by Songmo P and Peiheteile Esalung. The other results of the competition are as follows:

Winners from each category were awarded with cash prizes. Winners of the senior men and women walked away with Rs.20,000 for 1st prize, Rs. 15,000 for 2nd and Rs. 10,000 for 3rd. The rest of the cash prizes were for the rest of the categories were Rs. 10,000 for 1st, Rs. 7,000 for 2nd and Rs. 5,000 for 3rd.
