Commissioner & Secretary, Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Dr. P.J. Antony has issued a notification in the light of the earlier decision of the NPF Legislature Party to join the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the recent merger of the 21 Members belonging to the Naga Peoples Front (NPF), led by T.R. Zeliang, Leader of the NPF Legislature Party, on 29.04.2022 with the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) and the Order of the Speaker under Para 4(2) of the Tenth Schedule read with the Members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (Disqualification on Ground of Defection) Rules, 2019 issued vide Bulletins-II Nos.32 and 33 dated 29.04.2022, accepting the claim, T.R. Zeliang has ceased to be the Leader of the Opposition in the 13 Nagaland Legislative Assembly.
