Mon District Administration in collaboration with DLCW-MSK & Sakhi-OSC observed a week-long celebration of National Girl Child Day (24th January) from the 21st to 26th January 2021. 

The celebration witnessed activities and competitions across the District. Details of the activities are as follows:

21st January: Grandmother granddaughter selfie competition.  Girl Clubs with 10 members from 8 schools were formed and provided with hats and badges at Aboi. 

22nd January: Online slogan competition on the topic "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao". Traditional weaving and design training was held at Aboi. 

23rd January: Ballika Manch on POSCO Act, Menstrual Hygiene, Good Touch Bad Touch and women centric programmes was organised at Phomching HQ. Stationery kits were also distributed  to adolescent girls. 

24th January:  Tree plantation drive in the name of the girl child initiated by the District Administration in collaboration with DLCW - MSK Sakhi- One Stop Centre and youth of Santham Ward Mon Town. The saplings were provided by DFO Mon. 

25th January: BBBP Mon Block Task Force in collaboration with DLCW- MSK and Sakhi- OSC identified and felicitated special children as local champions. 

"Yaktoi Hunghao" for women to showcase their talent through artistic expression, competition was organised under three categories: Bead work/making, handiwork and processed food. 

26th January: Women Frontline Workers were felicitated by Minister PWD Mechanical & Housing Tongpang Ozukum at the Republic Day Celebration, Mon Town.

BBBP Girls Club sang the National Anthem at Aboi on the occasion of 72nd Republic Day. 

Free medical camp for mother and girl child was conducted at Anjangyan HQ where over 100 beneficiaries availed the benefits. 

Winners of the competition were facilitated on Republic Day.
