Nationwide Gram Sabha and Samved with Watsan Committees on JalJeevan Mission on Gandhi Jayanti, organised by DWSM PHED Dimapur in collaboration with ISA (Act of Kindness), was held at Medziphema Village Council Hall on 2nd October 2021 in commemoration of Gandhi's 152nd birth anniversary.

Special guest, PHED, Secretary, Kesonyu Yhome reminded the villagers of getting the privileges of Jal Jeevan Mission Scheme. He said that Medziphema Village being one of the biggest villages in Dimapur district gets to enjoy the JJM and should show good example to the neighbouring villages by focusing and fully utilising the benefits provided by the government.

Yhome also explained the goals and objectives of JJM and spoke on the importance of Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin and its functions. He also enlightened the villagers on JJM vision to provide safe adequate drinking water through to every individual house tap connection which was resolved by the state government.

Chief Engineer, Sanitation and WSSO, PHED, Er. Tsathrichem Sangtam exhorted the villages to take resolution to keep in maintaining the village clean, drinking water and sanitation every individual’s duty. Medziphema Village being one of the most privilege among the 1400 Villages in Nagaland to have nationwide gram sabha and samvad Jal Jeevan Mission, he added.

Medziphema Village Chairman, Metsilhoukho in his short speech highlighted the water problem faced by the villagers. District Co-ordinator DWSM, PHED (R) Dimapur Imojungla Longkumer highlighted on the agendas of Gram Sabha.

The program was chaired by Er. I Chirang Zeliang SDO, PHED Medziphema. Welcome address by EE, PHED(R) Er. Vikeduolie. The program was followed by discussion and review.
