In a move towards a cleaner and greener town, the Niuland Town Council has initiated a "Freedom from Garbage” Campaign by organizing a workshop on the Scientific Management of Waste on 27th October 2022. T. Lemlila Sangtam, Administrator, Niuland Town Council asserted “Because we believe, together, we can, and together we will”. The objective of this campaign is to create attitudinal and habitual change among people toward sanitation, hygiene, and waste management. Promoting source-level composting of biodegradable waste and Managing dry waste through systematic collection, storage, and channelizing for recycling.

The workshop ended with the enrolment of Campaign Volunteers for follow-up.
