Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Disaster Resilience being the foundation of Sustainable Development, the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has issued a 10 Points Agenda on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) based on the Sendai Framework on DRR 2015-2030 and Sustainable Goals.

Realizing the paramount importance, the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, the Nagaland Disaster Risk Reduction (NDRR) Roadmap has been developed which was supported by UNICEF. The NDRR Roadmap would be implemented by the 33 line departments of the Government of Nagaland from 2023-2030 to achieve the targets of Sendai Framework and Sustainable Goals of the State of Nagaland. The thematic action plans developed by 33 Government line departments will be implemented with the support from the 15% of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme.

On the auspicious day while the State of Nagaland celebrates its 61st Statehood Day on 1st Dec. 2023, the Chief Minister and Chairman NSDMA will launch the vision based thematic action plans of NDRR Roadmap envisioning to build Resilient and Safer Nagaland.
