District Education Department, Wokha organised teacher’s day on 5th Sept 2024 at Lotha
Hoho Ki, with Deputy Commissioner Wokha, Vineet Kumar (IAS) as the special guest.
Addressing during the celebration the DC said, because of their noble service and selfless
service, society put them in a high place in appreciation for their contribution in shaping and
moulding the future of the students to make them a responsible citizen. Stating that teaching is
one of the most respected jobs which create positive impact in the society, the DC urged them to
continue to serve with dedication and sincerity. Apart from the regular subjects and curriculum
activities he urged the teachers to focus in imparting life skills and right knowledge, so that
students are able to manage change and make them good citizens in the future.
To acknowledge their outstanding contribution in the field of teaching, the following
teachers were awarded with certificates and cash: Binod Pariyar (G/T Science) GHSS Bhandari;
H. Lidemo Tungoe (G/T Math) GHSS, Wokha; Assistant Teacher, T. Rosana Lotha, Mt. Sinai
School and M. Benchumlo Humtsoe, GMS, Tsungki.
Significance of teacher’s day was presented by Sr. SDEO, Wokha Z. Chanbemo Kikon.
The programme was chaired by Avani. C G/T, while welcome address was delivered by ADC,
SAMAGRA Wokha, K. Chandemo Patton. Highlights of the programme includes presentation of
special song by students of GHSS, Wokha and Teachers of GMS, Wokha town Sector “A”. ‘Ode
to Teachers’ was proposed by Mhonrhoni N. Kithan, Springdale School. Pastor Wokha Town
AO Baptist Arogo, Tayong Lemtur proposed a special prayer for the teachers.
