The State level Teacher's day celebration was held at NBCC Convention hall, Kohima
with Advisor, School Education & SCERT, Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome as the Special Guest on
5th September 2024. The programme begins with Unfurling of the Teacher's day Flag by the
Special Guest followed by Presentation of National Anthem by Ruzhukhrie GHSS, and welcome
address by Principal Director School Education, Thavaseelan .K. 
Advisor, Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome in his speech appealed to the gathering to express
their gratitude to the teachers for their dedication, guidance and support, and said teacher's
wisdom and encouragement help us to grow, teach us not just subjects, but also important life
lessons and skills. They teach us to be kind, helpful, honest and encourage us to dream big and
work hard, he added.  Yhome also urged the students to take a moment to thank their teachers
and promise to be good students and listen attentively to their advice. We honor their
contributions to our education and recognise the vital role teachers played in shaping our lives
and building a better future. 
Advisor assured all administrative reforms in the Education department to provide good
quality education in the state. He mentioned that the introduction of students Health card was
formulated in co-ordination with Health & Family welfare Department to monitor and maintain
Student's health and wellbeing. It will also serve as a comprehensive record of student’s health
related information and to improve attendance, performance, public health impact and long term
health awareness of the students, he informed. Earlier, Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome launched the
Students Healthcard. 
Special song was presented by GMS T. Khel, Kohima. Greetings on Teacher's day was
shared by Chairperson Nagaland Board of School Education Asano Sekhose, special item was
presented by Little star Hr. Secondary school Dimapur, A note on Life sketch of Late Dr. S,
Radhakrishnan was performed by Perennial school Wokha, Honouring of Teachers was done by
Government High School Meriema, A Tribute to Teachers by Rincho Academy Sovima, a
special number by Christ King Higher Secondary School, short video clip on National  Teacher
awardee 2024 to Graduate Teacher GHSS Dimapur, Lephizo Apon, presentation of state level
Teachers day award to 14th teachers from all over the state, a presentation of Disaster Ready,
Showcasing and rewarding safety excellence by GHSS Jotsoma, Kohima and vote of thanks
delivered by Additional Director school Education Razouseyi Vese were the highlights of the
celebration.
