The pre-trial destruction of narcotic drugs was approved by the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Dimapur in matters of registered cases, where criteria for pre-trial destruction had been fulfilled as per the NDPS Act, 1985.

And as per the Commissioner of Police (CP) report, 79 cases were registered across 9 police stations under NDPS.

The District Drug Disposal Committee Dimapur was headed by the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur along with SP (Crime), DCP of Dimapur, Chumoukedima and Niuland as members conducted physical verification of the drugs on ground at the prosecuting inspector court office, Dimapur on 04/12/2024.

The Narcotic drugs were destroyed at DMC dumping ground Burma Camp in the presence of Commissioner of Police district administration from three districts.

Details of the destroyed drugs with approximate monetary value is ₹34, 82, 87,425.

1. Brown sugar, shanflower, heroin - 9 kgs 741.15 grams, 

2. SP Capsules/Nitrosen tab - 16,537 Nos

3. Crystal Meth - 05 kgs

4. Opium - 02 kgs 450 grams 

5. Cough syrup - 17, 269 bottles 

6. Opium straw - 2600kgs

7. WY tablets/Simplex-e - 1,34,203 Nos.
