The Social Welfare Department, Wokha ICDS Project marked the National Girl Child Day on January 24th with the theme "Empowering Girls for a Bright Future." The celebration includes visiting Anganwadi centres throughout the district, where participants committed to protecting and promoting the welfare of girls.

CDPO Wokha, Renchano Odyuo, emphasized that the district has 124 Anganwadi centres, organized into 32 clusters to ensure grassroot-level celebrations, and these activities were conducted as part of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative

The celebration featured a variety of engaging activities, including sweet races and modding competitions, with prizes sponsored by Beti Bachao Beti Padhao awarded to the winners. Parents and children from various backgrounds participated, making the event a resounding success.
