The Department of Health & Family Welfare has informed that, with the aim at improving access to healthcare and support services to individuals with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Multiple Disabilities, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has launched the Niramaya Health Insurance Scheme administered by the National Trust.
The Niramaya scheme ensures comprehensive coverage, offering up to Rs. 1 lakh annually to eligible beneficiaries for hospitalization, therapy, corrective surgeries and alternative medicines.
To avail the benefits, one must enroll and register with the National Trust. The following documents are required for registration - Disability Certificate having UDID Card or UDID Enrollment Number with PwD Certificate, Address Proof, Income Certificate (for Above Poverty Line), Enrolment Fee Payment Proof. The enrolment and application must be facilitated through any Registered Organization registered with the National Trust. The Registered Organizations in the State are given below:
