The Deputy Commissioner, Longleng, W. Manpai Phom has notified that in pursuance of the report submitted by the Office of the Chief Veterinary Officer, Longleng regarding the confirmation of African Swine Fever (ASF) in Pongching and Hamlikhong Villages under Longleng District, the following areas are hereby notified as Infected Zones and Surveillance Zones for the purpose of controlling and containing the ASF outbreak

1.      Infected Zone Area: Pongching and Hamlikhong Villages under Longleng District Extent: Within 1 km radius of the infected premises.

2.      Surveillance Zone: An extent of 10 km radius from the infected premises (9 km radius outside the infected zone.)

        In this regard, the following restrictions are to be strictly adhered to in the aforementioned locations until further order.

1.      Ban on slaughter of pigs.

2.      Ban on import and export of pigs and piglets.

3.      Ban on transportation of pigs and pork.

This order has been issued in the interest of public health and safety to prevent the spread of the diseases.
