The office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, has issued a traffic advisory following a landslide on National Highway-2 at Chainage KM 12.900, near Tsiesema Basa, which has resulted in the complete blockage of the highway. In the meantime, the road from High Court Junction, Meriema – Nagaland University Campus – Tsiesema Basa, near 5 Sector Assam Rifles/Koinonia Prayer Centre Junction, has been designated as the alternative route for light motor vehicles.

Due to the narrow passage along this alternative route, traffic for heavy vehicles, including those bound for Manipur and Dimapur, will be regulated by the traffic police after assessing the condition of the road. The advisory has been issued in the interest of public safety and to facilitate smooth emergency operations and restoration work.
