Along with the rest of the country, schools all over the Shamator District celebrated Teacher's Day by way of honouring them and with a prayer. The Government Middle School GMS Y. Anner celebrated Teachers’ Day, organised by School Management Committee (SMC) led by L. Mukam Yimkhiung, Chairman of SMC.
Yimkhiung thanked all the teacher for their sacrifices leaving behind their families and teaching our children which shows exemplary noble job. Unlike other years, now the village school has no proxy teachers; this is a huge change and he hoped that the village children will get quality education.
He also encouraged all the children to study hard and reach their aim or goal, as he cidesd thatmost of the Senior Gazette Officers of the Yimkhiung tribe have studied in government schools.
Meanwhile, while the Christian High School Shamator also celebrated Teachers’ Day with cultural and various activities, with an invocation by Kherikhumla. A speech on behalf of students was given by Ahola Yimkhiung, where she praised and honoured the teachers for their love and gentle guidance towards the students. Songs, choreography, dances, and traditional cultural display also add more colour to the celebration.
Asst. Teacher, Mukam, thanked the children for their love and for making the program warm and honouring them. He encouraged the children to focus on their aim in life as the road to success is never easy, but not impossible. The best teacher of the school was awarded to Kewongkhum from the school.
