The State Election Commission, in pursuance of sub-rule (4) of Rule 54 of the Nagaland Municipal Election Rules, 2023 has notified the guidelines to be adopted for identification of the electors by the Presiding Officer for the upcoming ULB poll on 28th October 2025 at Ward-11 (Zhipa) under Pfutsero Town Council, the commission has furnished the following documents for strict compliance.  

1. For the purpose of identification, the electors should bring any of the following documents for exercising their franchise. (1). Indian Passport (2). Driving License (3). Aadhaar Card (4). Service Identity Card issued to its employee by the State/Central Government, Public Sector Undertaking, Public Limited Companies (5). Bank/Post Office PassBook with photograph (6). Pan Card (7). Pension Document with photograph, and (8). Indigenous Inhabitant Certificate issued by the Deputy Commissioner/Additional Deputy Commissioner

2. It is clarified that any documents, as enumerated above, which are available only for the head of family, shall be allowed for the purpose of identification of other members of the family. Similarly, any documents in the name of any other member of the family could also be used for identification of other members, provided the other members can be identified on the basis of such documents.

3. Minor discrepancies in the entries relating to elector's name, father's/mother's/husband name, sex, age or address in the electoral roll shall be ignored and the elector allowed to cast his/her vote so long as the identity of the elector can be established according to the particulars of electors appearing in the electoral roll and to the satisfaction of the Presiding Officer or Polling Officer.

4.      No elector will be allowed to exercise his/her franchise unless he/she produces any of the above documents prescribed by the State Election Commission.
