The Department of Information & Public Relations expresses deep sorrow at the passing away of our Advisor, Information & Public Relations, Soil & Water Conservation, Late Imkong L. Imchen who left for his heavenly abode on 11th November 2025.
A veteran statesman and one of the senior most members among the State’s legislators, Late Imkong L. Imchen was a leader of stature whose long years of public service were marked by commitment and wisdom.
As Advisor to the Department of IPR, Late Imchen took a deep and personal interest in its functioning and constantly encouraged the Department to evolve with the changing media landscape to strengthen its role as the voice and communication arm of the Government. His vision for institutional discipline, professionalism and the use of modern communication tools guided many of the Department’s ongoing reforms and initiatives.
His frequent visits, active participation in reviews and guidance to officers and staff reflected his genuine concern for the Department’s growth and efficiency. Late Imchen’s mentorship and warm accessibility earned him the respect and affection of all who had the privilege to work with him. His sudden and untimely demise has deprived us of the guidance and encouragement needed to carve a way forward, in spite of challenging circumstances.
The Department conveys its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and loved ones. We share in their grief and pray that the Almighty grant them strength and comfort during this difficult time.
May his noble soul rest in eternal peace.
With deepest condolences from the Officers & Staff, Information & Public Relations, Nagaland.
