A state-level competition on various Naga indigenous practices was held as part of the ongoing Hornbill Festival at NSF Solidarity Park, Kohima on 2nd December 2025. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from different tribal communities in Log Cutting Competition, Cock Fight Competition, and Arm-Wrestling Competition.
The programme was organized in celebration of Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh during the Hornbill Festival by the Tribal Research Institute, Kohima under the Department of Tribal Affairs, and funded by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India.
In the Tribal Log Cutting Competition, Rengma Tribe secured the first position, while Chakhesang Tribe and Ao Tribe bagged the second and third positions respectively.
In the Tribal Cock Fight Competition, Angami Tribe emerged as the winner, followed by Zeliang Tribe in second place and Sumi Tribe in third place.
In the Tribal Arm-Wrestling Competition, Avilie Zuyie and Thejaketuo Talie, both from Angami Tribe, secured the first and second positions respectively, while Lunrito from Yimkhiung Tribe bagged the third position.
