The Niuland District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on 5th Dec 2025 at DC’s Conference hall, Niuland with Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman DPDB Niuland, Sara S Jamir chairing the meeting.

            The DC said the invitation of GBs and leaders of the Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) for the board meeting specifically was to share their views and opinion in regards to the adoption of National Highway Act 1956 in the state. In this regard, Akumdong, SDO PWD (NH) Dimapur gave a detailed presentation on adoption of National Highway act 1956 and its implications on article 371(A).

            Toshijungla Lemtur, from White Hope Education Society (Residential School - Minority Affairs) also gave a brief presentation on the objectives and activities of the society. In this regard, the Deputy Commissioner assigned her for more specific information on their implementation and undertaking activities to present in the next DPDB meeting.

            The board also deliberated on Society Registration of Aghunaqa Area Students Union and Aghunaqa Area Sports Association and agreed to forward the case to the concerned department for further necessary action.
