Chief Minister, Dr. Neiphiu Rio stated that the Government remains committed to make concerted endeavours in every area and sectors of development for achieving the goal of Vikshit Bharat @ 2047, along with every other state in the country. He said this, while delivering the Republic Day speech at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat Plaza, Kohima on 26th January 2026.

Towards these achievements, Dr. Neiphiu Rio said that the development of human resources of the state cannot be overemphasized. The Department of School Education under NESIDS (OTRI) completed the in-service Teachers training cum examination centre with residential facilities at Medziphema, Chumuokedima district and Educational Infrastructure related to IT which was inaugurated by Union Minister of Communications and DoNER Jyotiraditya M. Scindia on 5th December 2025, Dr. Rio said. He added that the State Level Education Committee (SLEC) has approved the introduction of three months certificate course for language teachers/officials of the recognized languages of Nagaland in collaboration with Nagaland University to enable the teachers/officials to improve their teaching skills and proficiency in language.

Dr. Rio stated that the Labour Department is setting up a Skill Centre for the Construction Sector in partnership with the Construction Skill Development Council (CSDC). To improve governance, enhance transparency and make public services more accessible the Department has introduced a new Online System for Registration and Licensing notified on 13th November 2025, the Chief Minister stated. Technical Education Sector has  achieved a paramount milestone in NBA accreditation of 3 (three) Polytechnics and the upgradation of Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu to Degree college is making significant progress. He announced that an MoU with ARMS Incorporation-Japan is in the offing with employment for Technical Graduates being the focal point of this venture.

To streamline scholarship governance, centralized monitoring and facilitation, the Chief Minister said the Nagaland Scholarship Nodal Cell has been set up at the Directorate of Higher Education launched on 1st December 2025, while the State Cabinet has also approved the Guidelines on Coaching Centres 2025 that lays down mandatory standards for registration, safety, fee regulation, teacher qualification and ethical practices.

The Chief Minister stated that the Department of Youth Resources and Sports has been taking steps for empowering youth and strengthening the sports ecosystem in the state. Nagaland hosted the Dr. Talimeren Ao Junior Girls National Football Championship 2025-26 (Tier 2) at Chumoukedima from 22nd November to 11th December 2025 with thirteen States and Union Territories competing which was the first national-level football championship ever held in Nagaland and announced that the state is gearing up to host the 9th North East Youth Festival in March 2026 that is expected to bring together more than 1200 youth from across the Northeastern states.
