The Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Government of Nagaland, will be organising a special drive for the online registration and digitisation of old manual Birth and Death Certificates across the state.
The drive will be conducted from February 5 to February 20, 2026, covering all registration units in Nagaland. Citizens who still possess old manual birth or death certificates are requested to come forward and get their records officially registered and digitised through the concerned registrars during this period.
The initiative aims to update and streamline vital records by bringing older manual entries into the digital system, making them more secure, accessible, and officially recognised for future use.
For any assistance or queries related to the process, members of the public may contact the helpline number 7005404269 during office hours.
The department has also appealed to media houses to give wide publicity to the special drive so that maximum citizens can benefit from the initiative.
