The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, has constituted a district-level committee to monitor the distribution of LPG and other petroleum products and to curb hoarding, black marketing, and overpricing on 23rd March 2026.
The order, issued by Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, was in partial modification of earlier communications and in pursuance of directives from the state government. The committee has been formed to ensure strict enforcement of regulations and to prevent malpractices in the supply and distribution system.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner will serve as the convenor of the committee, while members include the Deputy Commissioner of Police, District Civil Supplies Officer, Assistant Controller of Legal Metrology, Extra Assistant Commissioner (Sadar), State Level Coordinator of IOCL, Senior Depot Manager of IOCL Dimapur, and Field Officer of BPCL.
The committee and enforcement team will carry out coordinated inspections and check to prevent illegal storage, hoarding, black marketing, and overpricing of LPG. It further stated that strict action will be taken against violators under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, the LPG (Regulation of Supply and Distribution) Order, and other relevant laws.
