Dimapur Police arrested a third accused person in connection with Women Police Station Case No. 003/26 registered under Sections 64(2) (7)(M), 65(1), 71 and 74 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) read with Section 6 of the POCSO Act.
According to a press note issued by the Office of the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, the accused, identified as Akangkokba Ao (68), son of Late Imsunukshi, a resident of Unger village under Changtongya Police Station, Mokokchung, and presently residing at Residency Colony, Dimapur, was arrested by Dimapur Police on June 7, 2026.
The arrest was made as part of the ongoing investigation into the case, the press note stated.
