The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, has informed that the National Immunization Day (NID) – Pulse Polio Immunization drive will be conducted across Kohima district on June 28, 2026 (Sunday), from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

In a circular issued by Deputy Commissioner B. Henok Buchem, NCS, all Ward Councillors, Village Councils, and Colony Chairmen have been requested to ensure wide dissemination of information and mobilise residents in their respective wards, villages, and colonies so that every child between 0 and 5 years of age receives the Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) during the immunization drive.

The circular stated that vaccination booths will be set up at all Anganwadi Centres, Government health facilities, schools, and various designated outreach points across Kohima district to facilitate easy access to vaccination services.

Parents and guardians have been urged to bring all eligible children to the nearest vaccination booth and support the nationwide effort to keep every child protected against polio
