The Deputy Commissioner, Longleng, W. Manpai Phom, NCS, has issued a circular informing that in view of a major landslide reported along the Changtongya-Longleng Road (NH-702) at Chainage 5+785 to 6+050, vehicular movement along the said stretch has been completely obstructed.

In the interest of public safety and to facilitate vehicular movement, commuters are advised to take the alternate route via Tangha-Kangching-Merangkong Road, which is presently motorable for light vehicles only, until further orders. Heavy vehicles are advised to refrain from using the said alternate route.

Restoration and clearance operations are being undertaken on priority by the concerned authorities to restore normal vehicular connectivity at the earliest.

All commuters are requested to exercise due caution and strictly comply with the directions of the authorities and personnel deployed along the affected and alternate routes.

The advisory shall remain in force until further orders.
