Deputy Commissioner and Chairman, Poshan Abhiyaan, Zunheboto, Peter Lichamo on Friday, 11th September, launched the district-wide programme Poshan Maah under Poshan Abhiyaan, a central government scheme aimed at making India malnutrition free by 2022. 

The launch programme was held at the DC’s conference hall in Zunheboto town. The programme was chaired by Mary V. Chishi with two main themes, identification of SAM/MAM children and development of kitchen garden.  Mughalu Awomi, District Coordinator, read out the poshan pledge. The DC delivered the keynote address where he stressed that selection and identification of all beneficiaries need to be done properly.

Dr. Nukshisangla Jamir, DPO (RCH&UIP) represented the Department of Health and Family Welfare. She spoke on the importance of nutrition and Covid-19 awareness. Vote of thanks was delivered by Atula Kikon.
