            On the fourth day of the 7th Session of the 13th NLA on 18 February, 2021, while replying to an unstarred question raised by MLA, Dr Chotisuh Sazo, Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio informed that Nagaland received 477,569 Qtls under PHH and 84,306 Qtls under AYY of rice from April to November, 2020 from the Government of India for free distribution to Ration Card holders in view of the Covid-19 pandemic. He added that, the State received 8,548.02 Qtls of Dal from April to June, 2020 and 14,246.7 Qtls of Chana from July to November, 2020.

            Advisor, Water Resources, Namri Nchang also replied to Sazo and stated that there is no major irrigation project in the State, however the Department is presently implementing 270 Nos of Surface Minor Irrigation Projects.

            Replying to Dr. Chumben Murry’s unstarred question, Minister-in-Charge of School Education gave the details of the performance of the Government Schools in HSLC exam. He informed that the overall pass percentage of GHS in the State was 28% in 2016, 31% in 2017, 30% in 2018, 36% in 2019 and 42% in 2020. He further informed on the various initiatives of the Department which include Remedial Teaching Program for the students of Government Schools for Science and Mathematics subject for class 9 & 10, introduction of “The Teacher’s Diary”, taking up of monitoring and inspection and orientation programs for the heads of the institutions and subject teachers. The Department has also introduced various innovative programs such as Tele/Radio Online Education, Online School Monitoring System, Online Teachers Transfer Portal, Teacher’s APP, Free India 4.0 Education, DHIKSHA Coherent Access Project and Gurushala Teacher Training Programme, he added.

            In an unstarred question raised by MLA, Dr Chotisuh Sazo, Minister for Rural Development stated that the MGNREGA wage rates for the year 2019-20 was Rs. 191.99 and Rs. 205 for 2020-21.
