An annual review meeting was conducted under DMU Kiphire at Forest office complex on 17th March 2021.The annual review meeting is organised every year as part of Nagaland Forest Management project (NFMP) review exercise to evaluate the activities initiated in the past one year for its onward submission to the higher authority for its appraisal.

        The NFMP Project is a ten year project funded by Japan International cooperation Agency ( JICA) beginning from 2017 for improvement of forest eco system through conservation involving community in the selected villages under each district. The project also intends to support establishment of self Help Group( SHG) through creation of income generation Activities ( IGA) and thus reducing the biotic pressure on forest resources. The NFMP Project is headed by Dharmendra Prakash, IFS, Chief project Director, NFMP, PCCF & HOFF, Forest Department Nagaland.

        The meeting was attended by the representatives of joint Forest Management committee (JFMC) of eight villages namely Anatongre, Yangzitong,Penkim, Keor, Pokphur, Bilongkyu, old Resithsi and Seyochung village. The meeting was chaired by DFO cum DMU head, Kiphire and SDO( C) Kiphire Hq as the DC representative.

            In his welcome address Rajesh Kumar IFS, DMU head expressed his happiness on positively responding to the call for the meeting at short notice. It was followed by the power point presentations from the respective staffs. The representatives from all the villages JFMCs also spoke about the project and conveyed their satisfaction about the project implementation.

         Short speech was also delivered by James T.Khulu SDO(C) Kiphire Hq where he called on the gatherings to conserve forest eco system and to work tireless for the common good of the people. He encouraged the participants to cultivate sense of responsibilities and belongingness so as to make this project a successful venture. He also urged the participants especially JFMC members not to be discouraged by obstacles but to take it as a challenge for the good of the future generation.
