In continuation to the Press Release issued on 29th April 2016, the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Nagaland, Kohima have stated that there is continued rampant encroachment of Department land by private individual, group etc. surrounding Veterinary Field Assistant Training Institute, Piggery Farm, Poultry Farm, Cattle Farm at Medziphema including the fodder field meant for growing fodder grasses for Cattle. All these Institutes and the land belongs to the Government and the Department is finding very difficult to hold these land in its possession due to heavy and forceful encroachment by the public.

            The four institutes / farms are prime possession of the Government and losing them will be poignant to all stakeholders and a great lost to posterity. It is worth mentioning that, VFATI, Medziphema is one of the premier institute for undergoing certificate course on VFA but now the environment is disturbed due to encroachment. 

            Therefore, the Department would have requested all to refrain from encroachment as the land still belong to the Department legally and anyone doing so shall be at its own risk.
