Deputy Commissioner, Mon Thavaseelan K, IAS has stated in an order that it has been observed that the identity of the people affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic or suspected to be a positive case have been exposed and circulated in social media which could lead to stigmatization and mental trauma.

Therefore, all the individuals/institutions/Organisations of Mon have been hereby requested to refrain from spreading such unverified information without prior permission from recognized authority.

Any Individual/institutions/Organisations found exposing the identity of COVID - 19 affected people through sharing of bio - data or photo in various print and electronic media, shall be penalised under Section 188 of Indian Penal Code 1860(45 of 1860).

DC Mon also circulated that considering the adverse effects of the National Lockdown imposed in view of the outbreak of Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), on the mental and holistic well-being of the general public, the All Nagaland Counsellors Association (ANCA) in collaboration with Health & Family Welfare Department will be rendering Telephonic Counseling Services on voluntary basis to the following categories of people.

1. Persons at Quarantine Facilities- 10 AM to 5 PM

2. Persons under Home Quarantine- 6 AM to 9PM

3. Anyone requiring counselling- 6 AM to 9 PM.

Any person desiring to avail the counselling service can send their details through WhatsApp to the number 7005251298, which will be passed on to All Nagaland Counsellors Association (ANCA) to reach out to the clients.
