Deputy Commissioner & Chairman District Task Force COVID-19 for Wokha district, Orenthung Lotha informs to all the public that, a partial modification, under the powers conferred under Sections 2, 3 and 4 of the Epidemic Diseases Act 1897, hereby orders the following to be applicable throughout Wokha district;

  1. Grocery Shops/Bakeries/Vegetable vendors and business establishments dealing with essential commodities will henceforth be permitted to open only on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays during the lockdown period. The shops will remain open from 07:00 AM to 2:00 PM only;
  2. Only one member from each family shall be permitted to come out of their homes for procurement of essential commodities from the market within the given time;
  3. All vehicular movement of non-essential nature is prohibited; no private vehicular movement will be allowed except for purchase of essential commodities and medical emergencies. Further, no private or commercial vehicles will be allowed to carry passengers;
  4. The colony council/village councils will regulate the operation of shops selling essential commodities in their respective localities & villages as per the given timing and ensure due compliance to the advisories of the Government with special reference to social distancing of at least 1 metre and compulsorily wearing masks in public places;
  5. All pharmacies are advised to remain open 24x7 and business transaction hours of all Banks in Wokha District will be from 9:00 AM to 03:00 PM on all working days.
  6. The public are advised not to resort to panic buying or hoard essential items since adequate stock is available.

Officials/ Staff/ Person belonging to Medical/ Police/ District Administration/ Paramilitary/ Media/ Fire& Emergency Services/ Postal Services/ NIC/ DDMA/ Power/ PHED/ Food & Civil Supplies/ Treasury and Accounts/ Forest/ Telecom services/ AH & Veterinary/ Social Welfare on official duty and vehicles carrying essential commodities with prior permission/ Emergency Medical cases are exempted from the purview of this order.
In addition, in view of the harvesting and sowing season, exemptions are hereby allowed for farming operations by farmers and farm workers, procurement of agricultural production, movement of agricultural machinery, etc. while maintaining social distancing.

This order will come into force with effect from 22nd April, 2020.
