Minister, Health & Family Welfare, Pangyu Phom had a brief meeting with the medical officers of District Hospital, Dimapur on 7th June 2021, at the Chapel Hall, DHD, to listen to grievances and also to take stock of the availability of equipment, medicines and other logistics.
Lauding the doctors, nurses/ health workers for rendering their selfless sacrifices in the fight against Covid pandemic, Phom assured for looking into their grievances according to need based system. Pointing out that every department has a system which cannot be bypassed, he advised them to send the requirements in the form of proposals. Expressing concern on the lack of CT scan and X-Ray machines at DHD, the Minister directed the CMO and MS for submitting the proposal officially at the earlier and said that the department would provide the requirements.
CMO Dimapur, highlighted on the Covid scenario of Dimapur District, where he informed that there are presently ten Covid Hospitals (two yet to be activated), but everything is set in place, mock drill also undertaken and can be activated anytime as and when need arises. He informed that presently, the district is comfortable with sufficient Covid beds as well as oxygen cylinders.
MS Dimapur informed that Round Table India Trust in collaboration with Rotary club Dimapur has donated 50 bedded equipment at a designated ward at DHD and the equipment have started to arrive. Further, he informed about Invest India, who has plans in the pipeline for providing a pre-fabricated 48 bedded Covid Hospital. She observed that with more infrastructures, more manpower would be required and requested the Minister for looking into the matter as far as rational distribution of manpower is concern.
District Immunization officer, Dr.Rebecca highlighted the vaccination status of the District and apprised the Minister on maximum allocation of vaccines to Dimapur, taking into consideration the population of district.
