Principal Director, H& FW, Dr. Vizolie Z. Suokhrie while addressing the press conference said people have becoming complacent in adopting preventive measures such as wearing masks, maintaining social distancing and washing hands as though pandemic is over on 6th September 2020 at Directorate of Health & Family Welfare. 

He said with the coming of returnees, Nagaland has seen a lot of positive cases here and there particularly among the military and paramilitary forces. Asymptomatic cases were turned to be positive and more positive cases were detected while screening for Assembly related duties. "Recovery rate in Nagaland is more than 80% but the number of positive cases is also increasing at the same time after lifting the lockdown and more activities have been relaxed. Therefore, he urged to be more careful, take proactive measures and behave responsibly so as to break the chain of infection". Enforcement of SOP is very important at this point of time but it is beyond the purview of the department," he added. He also warned to practice safe practices since the flu comes with the change of season. So far, more than 50 thousand tests have been tested in the state which is higher than the national average. No infant or maternal mortality due to covid-19, he said.

PD also said that OPD to be fully functional by next week in Naga Hospital Authority Kohima. The department also allowed all the private hospitals to have the testing facilities so as to facilitate and ease the burden of government hospitals.
