The First Pughoboto inter-departmental sports meet was declared open by MLA Y Vikheho Swu at the local ground Pughoboto on 7 April 2022.

Speaking at the two-day event, Swu thanked all the employees posted in Pughoboto for their participation and appealed to them to remain consistent and committed. Adding that every government employee has a big responsibility to shoulder the development of the state as well the country.  Informing that sports develop human relationships, he acknowledged the ADC for covering all the villages under his jurisdiction and also organizing the event within a few months after he was posted in the division.

He encouraged citizens to contribute in any way to produce sportspeople. As an area legislature of the area, he mentioned that his dream was to construct Rostrum in all the villages but only a few were completed including the mini stadium in Pughoboto.

ADC said organizing such a Meet is a part of life fulfillment and said employees should not only be confined to offices but exhibit their abilities, get to know each other, and remain healthy.

All departments under Pughoboto were divided into four teams namely Tsyui from NAP, DEF, SIB, and NRB department, Khucho team from District Administration, DEO, RD, and Food And Civil Supply, Yeti team included the department of Agri, Soil & Water Conservation, Forest, Industries and Commerce and Education and while Tapu team were from PWD, Power, PHED and Social Welfare department.

The sports meet is underway in three disciplines- Football (men), Badminton (men's doubles and mixed doubles), and women's Volleyball exhibition match.

In the Football men's first match Khuchu defeated Yeti by 5-2.

The program was chaired by SDPO Pughoboto Aketo Chiso, a special song was presented by Topeni Futhena, and invocation prayer was pronounced by SABAK Executive Secretary Tovishe Shohe.
