In Peren, the 73rd Republic Day was celebrated at Deputy Commissioner's Office Complex with Advisor, Industries and Commerce, Labour & Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Govt. of Nagaland, Imnatiba as the special guest.

The special guest unfurled the National Flag and took Rashtriya salute from the Parade Contingents comprising of DEF Peren and 9th IRB Saijang. This was followed by the speech and March Past.

Other highlights of the day included folk dance by Inbung Youth & Students Cultural Troupe and Samziuram Youngsters Cultural Troupe and a special number by Yipungchule Ndang.

The programme culminated with beating of retreat by DEF Peren.
