Commissioner & Secretary, Social Welfare & Administrator NSSWB, Martha R Ritse inaugurated the Sakhi-One Stop Centre office building at Zunheboto on 18th August 2022.
In the inaugural speech, Ritse expressed her concern about Zunheboto district by saying that, in the last three years, Zunheboto district has only 20 cases registered on violence against women and children, and if genuine, Zunheboto can be declared as one of the safest places for women and children. However, she added that if lesser cases are being filed against the bigger number of crimes committed, it could be a serious issue. She further appealed to the DC Zunheboto to work with the concerned departments to get the inside of the actual scenario. She further exhorted the department to work with utmost sincerity.
Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali, IAS while delivering his welcome address lauded the efforts of Sakhi-One Stop Centre even though it has been functioning in a rental building. The DC also added that the district administration would always be approachable at any time.
Earlier, the programme began with the unveiling of the inaugural stone. Speech on behalf of the Social Welfare department was delivered by Director, Social Welfare, Tosheli Zhimomi, vote of thanks was shared by EAC and Nodal officer OSC Zunheboto, Mopling M. Phom.
