A three-day seminar programme for stakeholders on the theme “Per drop, more crops” under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY), organised by District Horticulture Office, Tuensang from October 18-20 concluded at C.K.S Hall, Tuensang.
The resource person deliberated on the importance of drip irrigation and how it works. He pointed out that it is the most efficient water and nutrient delivery system for growing crops and that installing a drip irrigation system will not only save water but saves time and money. He further encouraged the farmers to work hard and make better use of the available resources provided by the department as the system will help the farmers to produce higher yields while saving on water as well as fertilizers, energy and even crop protection products.
The programme was led by Horticulture Inspector, Chemlila Sangtam while Horticulture Inspector, C. Yongkonglimba welcomed the participants and highlighted on the importance of the programme. Topong Chang, Technical consultant, M/s Solar Nation Dimapur was the resource person during the technical sessions.
The programme was attended by beneficiaries from various villages under PMKSY.
