District Administration & Mahila Shakti Kendra Longleng conducted a skill training on Modern Basket & Crochets making from 19th to 23rd February 2022 at Guest House, EAC HQ Sakshi block, Longleng covering a total of 7(seven) villages under Sakshi block, The main target group was school dropout girls and unemployed women to provide adequate training, to create opportunities for women and girl child to enhance their skill for self-reliance.

Addressing the program, Deputy Commissioner Longleng, M. Shayung Phom spoke on the importance of self-employment and encouraged the trainees to open small units with the skills learned from the training, and added that life is a learning process and that one should not stop learning.

While SDO (C) Longleng, Trongdiba Sangtam said that various skill-based training should be organized timely to ensure that women, being a vulnerable section of our society, be given such opportunity for self-reliance & to be financially independent.

EAC Sakshi, Ruokuosetuo Tetsoe appreciated MSK Longleng for the effort made in uplifting women folk of the area where most women & girl children are deprived of such privileges.

A total of 25 trainees participated in the training. The trainers for the program were Sangla Phom and Hemnyam Phom.
