Committee on Government Assurances members Government of Nagaland, led by its Chairman, MLA Kuzholuzo Nienu conducted on the spot verification for assessing the status and quality of the ongoing road improvement works in Dimapur and Kohima city portion under NH 39 on 6th October 2020.

In Dimapur, the team visited Golaghat gate to Zion Hospital junction under NH 39 Chumukedima Police gate to Patkai bridge junction under NH 39.

During the course of inspection by the Committee members, core cutting machine was used for checking the thickness of DBM (black top) density, quality and voids in the DBM.

Later, addressing a press conference at Naithu Resort, the chairman expressed satisfaction on the progress in the 4 lanning road and commented "status of work is so far so good." Observing few wear and tears in the stretch from Nagaland gate to Zion junction, Azo asked the contractor for repairing it before Christmas. 

Azo noted that it was high time Naga people are provided with good roads and said that the Government and leaders are serious and informed that it was for this reason that the government decided for setting up committee for undertaking spot verification. He further felt that it was a good precedence set, since any contractor would also be serious about providing quality work even in the future.

Advisor, IPR, SCERT and HG, Toshi Wungtung emphasised on the importance of public safety besides quality work and reminded the contractor for keeping sufficient space in the tri junctions and for avoiding sharp turns to ensure traffic friendly roads.

The present road construction work is being undertaken by TK Engineering Consortium Pvt.Ltd.

MLAs Eshak Konyak, Dr.Nganshi K.Ao, Keneizhakho Nakhro, Moatoshi were present during the spot verification besides PWD officials.
