The Government of Nagaland has constituted a Working Group on Comprehensive Rationalisation of Manpower vide Notification No. FIN/BUD/4-1/SLC-ERRM/WG/2026-27/63 dated the 15th July, 2026, with a mandate to undertake a State-wide review of all Departments, Directorates, subordinate and field offices, Boards, Corporations, Government Institutions and State Public Sector Undertakings; to assess the functional justification for the posts presently existing in such establishments; and to recommend a rationalised staffing structure consistent with the fiscal consolidation targets of the State. The exercise is founded upon a validated, post-wise establishment database, and the submissions now called for from Departments and Government establishments will constitute the primary record on which the findings and recommendations of the Working Group are to rest.
All Departments and Government establishments are required to furnish their post-wise establishment data in the proforma prescribed by the Working Group, duly signed by the Head of Department and countersigned by the Administrative Head of Department, on or before Friday, the 07th August, 2026. Official communications have been sent to all Departments via email.
An officer not below the rank of Under Secretary/Deputy Director is to be nominated as Nodal Officer for the exercise, and the particulars intimated to the Working Group Secretariat within 3 (three) days of publication of this communique.
In the event of non-receipt of the submissions within the stipulated period, the Working Group will proceed on the basis of the establishment and payroll data available on record, and the position will be reflected accordingly in its report to the Government.
