As part of the country wide celebrations under AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV of Govt, of India, the Film and Television Institute India (FTII), Pune is conducting online short courses to advance the cause of film education by providing free-of-cost trainings for Scheduled Tribe (ST) participants residing in Nagaland.

The training is being held at the egovernance academy classroom at the Directorate of Information Technology & Communication, Kohima from 24th January to 29th January 2022 in collaboration with the Department of Information & Public Relations, which is the Nodal Dept for films in the State. 

In the introductory session, FTII Prof. Milind Damle said that through the online mode of training, the institute has been able to reach out to different parts of the country, and through digital revolution, smartphones have enabled common people to become filmmakers. Therefore, through the training, the institute would like to help people from the Scheduled Tribes to learn the basics of smartphone filmmaking and he hoped that there would be more filmmakers and content writers representing the State on the national level.

Associate Prof Ashwin B.Sonone from FTII and Joint Director, IPR Nagaland, Asangla Imsong also spoke at the inaugural briefing. Altogether 24 participants are taking part in the programme.
