Tseminyu Aspirational Block Committee had a meeting today the 3rd August 2021 in DPDB's Conference Hall Kohima to discuss on the preparation of its five year Action Plan for the selected block.
Deputy Commissioner Kohima & Chairman of the committee, Gregory Thejawelie NCS informed the members that the Government has notified Tseminyu block under Kohima district along with other nine blocks spread over the districts as Aspirational Blocks. He said that as per the government's direction, the district Aspirational Block committee was constituted with DC as Chairman and DPO (Planning) as member secretary along with other 22 officers from various departments as members.
Discussing on the preparation of the action plan, the meeting deliberated on various implementing programmes under centrally sponsored scheme and other programs undertaken by the departments where the members shared their views and suggestions for the preparation of the action plan. It was decided to work out departmental-wise action plan by each department based on its implementing programmes including schemes under CSS to be incorporated and to submit it on or before 20th of August 2021.
In this regard, DC asked the departmental officers to have required consultation with ADC Tseminyu and respective sub-divisional officers while preparing the action plan and to submit it within the time framed. He said that with the action plan submitted by each departments, the committee will prepare the final action plan for the selected aspirational block depending on its potential and requirements.
ADC Tseminyu, W. Manpai Phom NCS in his brief note on Tseminyu Aspirational Block, stated that Tseminyu block, with 26 villages, was one among the seven blocks under Kohima district. As per the 2011 census, Tseminyu has a total population of 51314, including a sex ratio of 1022 as against the State average of 931, and a healthy literacy rate of 81.71% as against the State average of 79.55%. With a sizable young population, untapped social capital and human resources, favorable agro-climatic conditions, accessible road connectivity and inherent capacities of traditional village and modern institutions, Tseminyu block offers immense potential for boosting inclusive growth and development. It also highlighted on the potential of the block, infrastructure needs of the block, increasing the income of the people in the block, trade/sector requirement capacity buildings and also on the present condition of various sectors in the block.
