UGC DIRECTS FOR CREATION OF EDUCATION RESOURCES FOR BLIND STUDENTS

The University Grants Commission (UGC) as receipt of an O. M. No. 14-3/ 2021- SC/ ST dated 05.01.2022 of the Ministry of Education, Government of India for creation of education resources for blind students at university level.

Prof. Rajnish Jain, Secretary of UGC vide D. O. No. 2-3/ 2022 (CPP-II) dated 20th January 2022, directed all universities and affiliated/ constituent colleges to develop/ adopt suitable educational resources like Braille-print books, large print books, tactical books, audio books and such other assistive device which better meet the needs of visual impairments for equitable access to the curriculum. Such education resources, as far as possible should be uploaded on the website of the university also made freely available.
