WORK FOR KOHIMA BYPASS 2-LANE ROAD TUNNEL PORTION AT CHAINAGE KM 11 MERIEMA VILLAGE RESUMES

The Office of Deputy Commissioner Kohima in a press release stated that Work for the Kohima Bypass 2-Lane Road Tunnel portion at Chainage KM 11 Meriema Village has resumed following the resolution of pending issues raised by land owners. Work was halted by landowners due to concerns about property damage.

These concerns have been addressed and hindrances resolved in a joint sitting held on 3rd December 2022 in the Office of Deputy Commissioner, Kohima. The 500 m-long tunnel construction work at Meriema was delayed for over a year after the initial tunneling work of 112 m. The remaining tunneling work which has been halted since then has now been resolved and settled with the intervention of the Deputy Commissioner and Revenue Office, Kohima.
