One-day workshop cum seminar on Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprise (PMFME) was held on 18th November 2022 at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, organized by District Industries Centre (DIC) Wokha.
General Manager DIC, K. Myingthungo Kikon while welcoming the gathering briefly highlighted about PMFME scheme and stated that there are nearly 25 lakhs food processing enterprises in the country that are unregistered and informal, and said that the PMFME scheme is designed to address the challenges faced by the micro-enterprises in the food processing units and thereby tap the potentials of groups and co-operatives in supporting the up-gradation and formalization of these enterprises.
Economic Investigator Sub-DIC Bhandari, M. Mhabemo Kithan dwelled on the topic “System and Process of PMFME scheme” where he appraised the gathering about the process of applying the scheme.
Deputy Manager SBI, Wokha Branch, Unakanta Lukram while sharing on the topic “Banking Modalities of PMFME scheme” stressed the importance of maintaining a good credit score with the banks if any interested individual intends to avail any financial assistance from government schemes.
Assistant Inspector, DFO Office Wokha, Rimachang Aier delivered on the topic “Fish as ODOP & PMFME” where he gave detailed technical knowledge on preparation of fishery pond, fertilizing, feeding and pond management, design of the fish farm, and its significance.
Economic Investigator, DIC Wokha Visakhole Nakhi gave the closing remark during the discussion hour held with the participants who attended the workshop cum seminar, the function was chaired by Lucy Yanthan.
