To Our Environment" which was organized by District Tobacco Control Cell, National Tobacco Control Programme Zunheboto, and hosted by Bloomfield Hill Higher Secondary School, Zunheboto on 31st May 2022, with Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali (IAS), as the guest of honor.

While addressing the gathering, the DC exhorted that the use of tobacco should be completed eradicated from the society and that the primary institutions like the churches, schools, etc would be most ideal agents in creating awareness of the diverse ill effects of tobacco usage. He also requested the District Nodal Officer to intensify its good work more by regularly monitoring and checking the sale of tobacco products under its jurisdictions.

Presentation of Tobacco-free certificates and prizes for painting competition on the topic concerned were administered by District Nodal Officer NTCP, Zunheboto, Dr. Esther Chophy Ngullie and those who received the prizes from Deputy Commissioner were:

During the event, a special certificate of appreciation was presented to Aghaka K Yeptho for his valuable efforts in organizing awareness programmes on the ill effects of tobacco and also forming different No Tobacco Clubs around the town.

Dy. CMO, Dr. K Akaho Sema, while delivering the keynote address, stressed the extremely harmful effects of the use of tobacco. He also appealed to schools to rededicate themselves to the fight against the use of tobacco. 

The programme began with an invocation by pastor ZTSBC, Rev Dr. Daniel Chishi. A special song was presented by Immanuel Hr Secondary School. District Project Assistant, ZDLSA briefed the students on COTPA 2003. The programme culminated with the vote of thanks from DPM (NHM) Zunheboto, Rosmary Vitoli.
