            The Zunheboto DPDB meeting was held at Deputy Commissioner's Conference Hall on 11th February under the chairmanship of Vice Chairman, DPDB and DC Zunheboto, Peter Lichamo.

            DPO (RCH & UIP) Dr M. Nukshisangla Jamir, briefed the board on the ongoing COVID-19 vaccination in the district and informed that, a total of 491 health care workers has been vaccinated out of the targeted 771 beneficiaries. She added that, the second dose of vaccination for health care workers shall be from 16-22 February at all session sites. She also said that, sensitization programmes on covid-19 vaccine for departments like Revenue, Prison, Police Reserve and Home Guards and Civil Defence departments, which all falls under the frontline workers phase of vaccination were completed and is further planned for 8th NAP Battalion Hq on 14th February. 

            The second phase of vaccination which began on 10th February at the 32nd Assam Rifles Battalion achieved 88 out of 97 targeted beneficiaries, she added. During her briefing, she also talked about the recently concluded IPPI and Indra Dhanush schemes.

            CMO Zunheboto, Dr K. Akaho Sema, appealed the board to sensitize the need of being vaccinated, to trust the efficacy of the vaccine and that the pandemic is far from over, and not to believe in hearsay going round social media and every other platforms. He endorsed that, there was not a single significant side effect from the vaccine so far, at the district.

            The board meeting also deliberated on the ongoing state and central projects under PWD, Agri and allied department, NST bus services connecting Zunheboto and Mokokchung districts and Zunheboto and state capital Kohima.
