In a generous gesture, Atharva Foundation (Mumbai) donated an ambulance to the Ex-serviceman League Mon. The handover ceremony took place at the Civil Secretariat Complex on October 14, 2023.
During the ceremony, Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha, IAS, emphasized the critical importance of health and medical care, especially as individuals age. He highlighted the significance of the donated ambulance in providing essential services to the ex-servicemen of Mon district.
Sinha stressed that in remote areas with challenging road conditions, having access to an ambulance service is invaluable during medical emergencies. It allows for the swift transport of sick patients to the nearest medical facility, ensuring prompt and adequate treatment. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Atharva Foundation for their generous donation and commended the department for their noble initiative in supporting the welfare of ex-servicemen.
Captain (IN) Lalsuonglieng Tonsing (Rtd), Director of Sainik Welfare & Resettlement, acknowledged the Atharva Foundation's laudable intention to support ex-servicemen, martyrs, and serving soldiers by donating the ambulance. He emphasized the diverse age groups and perspectives within the ex-servicemen community, highlighting the need to promote the welfare measures provided by both the Central and State governments.
He expressed deep appreciation to the Atharva Foundation for their generous donation, which will serve the ex-servicemen and their families.
The ceremony began with a dedication prayer led by Pastor KLBC Mhonchamo Lotha, followed by Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha officially handing over the ambulance to the President of the Ex-servicemen League Mon.
