The event was held at the Council Hall, Chumoukedima A Village on the 26th of July. 

The celebration was graced by Advisor for Sericulture, Excise & Minority Affairs, Zhaleo Rio.

He said electricity is one of the most important basic requirements of human life and the achievements have reached various parts of the country.

He thanked the Government of India for taking the initiative and bringing electricity to the most remote villages. He spoke on the roles of the consumers, the Power Department, and all other stakeholders to improve the power supply.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Chümoukedima Kuzonyi highlighted the benefits of electricity and the unprecedented growth shown in the power sector over the past few years. 

Manager (Civil) NEEPCO Ltd. Zachamo Ovung highlighted the objective to provide 24x7 quality power to the consumers at par with global standards.

He mentioned Ujjwal Bharat, Ujjwal Bhavishya will showcase achievements in the power sector, including the renewable energy sector along with a vision of the nation in this sector by 2047 when the country completes 100 years of Independence.

He said in Chumoukedima A Village, with the new addition of 1 no of 25 KVA, 1 no of 63 KVA & 1 no of 100 KVA, the village currently has 314KVA installed capacity. This has added and strengthened the distribution system by the addition of more HT lines and LT Lines.

As a part of the celebration, various cultural programs such as nukkad nataks, cultural dance, and movie screening were done to impart knowledge on subjects such as the benefits of electricity and its conservation.

The Mahotsav was attended by officials from District Administration, DoPN, NEEPCO Ltd Beneficiaries, Chumoukedima A, and nearby Villagers and dignitaries. The events also witnessed several beneficiaries from CHUMOUREDIMA A VILLAGE sharing their experiences.
