A conference of poll-gone and poll-going States of Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Tripura was held at the Election Commission of India, New Delhi on 14th December 2022. CEO Nagaland, V. Shashank Shekhar, IAS along with Joint CEO, Awa Lorin, and AEO MIS, Ketousie-u Khruomo attended the conference. The meeting was held for knowledge and experience sharing on the conduct of elections and the electoral process. The Poll gone states gave presentations on best practices and precautions to be exercised in various segments of the electoral process. Poll-going states gave detailed presentations on the progress of Special Summary Revision and Electoral Roll-related activities and preparedness status for the conduct of elections. They also highlighted special focused activities being undertaken to improve Electoral Roll health at each Assembly Constituency level.
The conference concluded with discussions on replicable initiatives that can be applied in the upcoming Assembly Elections. The conference was chaired by Chief Election Commissioner, Rajiv Kumar and Election Commissioner, Arun Goel. It was also attended by Senior Deputy Election Commissioners, Principal Secretaries, Directors, and other officials of the Election Commission of India.
